Jabberwock - The Journal and the Online Magazine
The English Department of Lady Shri Ram College for Women is an environment that nurtures multiple, coexisting traditions of creative and critical theory. In a space like ours, it is imperative that we continuously challenge established thought, start conversations, and articulate new ideas through the written word and other media. The Academic Journal Jabberwock and the Online Magazine Jabberwock Online are two platforms for such articulation. The journal is an annual feature, released around College Day, towards the end of even semesters (II, IV, VI). The online magazine is much more frequently updated with incoming submissions.
The academic journal is open to a range of academic work including research papers, short academic essays, and reviews of books, films or other media. This year, a section of the journal will be devoted to writings around the theme: "Silence". Details regarding the same can be found in the tab above.
The online magazine is open to submissions throughout the year from the student body and the faculty of the department. The magazine publishes a variety of creative work. In its past editions, it has published work that cuts across genres and styles: poetry, art work, photography, flash fiction, and long-form writing. Please follow this link to access the magazine:
