Logo Making Competition
In Collaboration with Hive: The Fine Arts Society of LSR
In September 2021, The English Literary Association at LSR, in collaboration with Hive, the Fine Arts Society, organised a logo making competition open to second and third-year students of the English Department to decide on an official logo for the Department that captured its essence and creative spirit.
The sixteen entries received by the 26th (September) were judged by Rhea Agrawal and Gul Chandna, the current and former presidents of the Hive Society, as well as by Arpita, Tanisha, and Anwesha, the three heads of the English Department Union at LSR. The best entry was that of Shyla Sharma, a third-year student of the Department. In her words, “I’ve chosen an image of the greek Goddess Athene; not only is she a recurring thematic entity, but she also represents wisdom and strategy— values I find represented within the Department, its study, and the college itself”. Her entry was thus chosen as the official logo, thus announced on 9th October, 2021.
